Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Prior coaching experience.
Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
Valid FHSAA certification.
Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Coaching experience in the assigned or a closely related sport.
Experience mentoring youth and fostering a positive team culture.
Familiarity with academic eligibility requirements for student-athletes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the sport's rules, techniques, and safety practices.
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during school breaks as needed.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting regular practice sessions.
Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student-athletes.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and school-sponsored trips.
Promote discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship among players.
Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
Assist with maintenance of team equipment and uniforms.
Assist with scheduling and facility use.
Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on personal development and college opportunities.
Enforce all school policies and codes of conduct.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
