Family Christian Center School (FCCS), Clermont, Florida Position Summary Family Christian Center School (FCCS) is seeking a passionate, energetic, and faith-driven Head Cheerleading Coach to lead our Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleading programs. This position is responsible for building a positive team culture, developing student-athletes both athletically and spiritually, and promoting school spirit through sideline cheerleading activities. The FCCS Cheerleading Program currently operates as a sideline cheer program supporting athletic events and school activities. The long-term vision is to develop the program into a competitive cheerleading program within the next one to two years. This is a stipend position. Compensation will be determined based on experience, certifications, qualifications, and coaching background. Primary Responsibilities Program Leadership Direct and oversee all aspects of the JV and Varsity Cheerleading programs. Establish a positive, Christ-centered culture that reflects the mission and values of FCCS. Serve as a role model in character, leadership, sportsmanship, and faith. Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and school spirit. Coaching & Development Plan and conduct practices for JV and Varsity cheerleaders. Teach proper cheerleading fundamentals, motions, jumps, stunts, chants, crowd engagement, and game-day performance techniques. Develop age-appropriate skill progression and athlete development plans. Prepare squads for football games, basketball games, pep rallies, school events, and community appearances. Evaluate athletes and assist with team placement decisions. Program Growth Assist the Athletic Director in developing a long-term plan for transitioning FCCS Cheer into a competitive cheerleading program. Recruit and retain student-athletes for the program. Help identify equipment, training opportunities, and fundraising needs necessary for future competitive cheer participation. Build relationships with youth cheer programs and community organizations. Administrative Responsibilities Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and the Athletic Director. Maintain attendance records and team rosters. Ensure all athletes meet eligibility requirements established by FCCS and athletic governing organizations. Follow all school policies and athletic department procedures. Assist with uniform inventory and equipment management. Safety & Compliance Prioritize athlete safety at all times. Ensure proper supervision during practices, games, and team activities. Teach and enforce safe stunt progression and cheerleading techniques. Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification (or obtain certification upon hire). Follow all FCCS risk management and emergency procedures.
Qualifications Preferred candidates will possess:
Previous cheerleading coaching experience at the youth, middle school, high school, or collegiate level. Knowledge of sideline cheerleading fundamentals and game-day performance. Experience with stunting, tumbling, and/or competitive cheer is highly desirable. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. Commitment to Christian values and the mission of Family Christian Center School. Ability to pass all required background screenings. Preferred Qualifications Competitive cheer coaching experience. CPR/First Aid certification. Cheerleading safety certifications. Experience building or growing a cheerleading program. Experience organizing camps, clinics, and fundraising activities. Time Commitment Regular practices during the athletic season. Attendance at JV and Varsity football games, basketball games, pep rallies, and school events. Participation in coaches' meetings and athletic department functions. Off-season planning and limited summer activities as approved by the Athletic Director. Compensation This is a stipend position.
