Continuous Description This position is responsible for the coordination of the men's golf program which includes coaching, mentoring, guiding, and training student-athletes while pursuing athletics' twin goals of academic excellence and instructing students in how to be academically and personally successful. Support the Mission, Vision, & Values of Florida Gateway College. Organizes, directs, and administers the men's golf program. Supervise fundraising campaigns for the men's golf program. Help identify, evaluate, recruit and retain a roster of at least 6 total eligible men's golf specific student-athletes. Possess expert knowledge of skills and strategies related to men's golf. Recruit, hire and evaluate all assistant coaches. Perform administrative duties for men's golf program in regards to tournament schedule, budget management, travel arrangements, scheduling of practice and tournament facility, and academic support. Work with athletic director to monitor and direct academic success initiatives for student-athletes (class attendance, tutoring, academic support, etc.) Knowledge and compliance of all NJCAA sport guidelines. Purchase and maintain all men's golf related equipment. Work closely with Public Information Officer and marketing department on all media necessities. Work with athletic director to maintain NJCAA eligibility and all other related documentation on men's golf student athletes. Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position. Comply with Florida Gateway College policies and procedures. Employees will be required to perform other job related marginal duties as required.) Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Demonstrated experience coaching at the college/club/high school level. Friendly, approachable, team-oriented, commented to student's academic success, and integrate into a close networked Athletic Department. Good communication skills; attention to detail, and the ability to instruct students in how to be successful in college are essential qualities for the incumbent holding this position. Must possess leadership and management skills that will further establish the men's golf program at the college. Understands and maintains knowledge of commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations and policies of the college, the NJCAA, and the conference.
EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and coaching experience preferred. Equivalent experience maybe substituted for coaching experience and/or education. Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations and compliance issues concerning Title IX and the administration of intercollegiate athletics.
