High School Diploma or GED required. Current Florida Educator Certification or willingness to obtain Athletic Coaching Certification is required. More information about Athletic Coaching Certification can be found at http://www.asep.com/asep_content/org/CCSDFL.cfm. The Florida Department of Education issues two types of
Athletic Coaching Certificates:
1. 3-Year Temporary Certificate (Issued ONLY to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5-Year Certificate. It is NOT renewable.) 2. 5-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate
WHO NEEDS IT?
Coaches who are paid a supplement from the school District but DO NOT hold a Temporary or Professional Educator Certificate. Volunteer Coaches who are employees of the Collier County Public Schools, but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator's Certificate. NOTE - Coaches who hold current teaching certifications do not need to obtain athletic coaching certification.
