Job Description
As TYCC's sailing team grows our coaching staff needs to grow to accomodate. We are seeking a part time sailing coach to introduce our team sailors to the basics of opti racing. First and foremost, we ask that coaches foster an enviroment in whioch sailors and parents can be confident that they will be learning safely. Our Opti coach will be responsible for taking sailors fresh from summer camp and guiding them through the process of becoming competitive sailors. We practice Tuesday 4-7, Wednesday 4pm-7pm, and Saturday 9am-4pm. We regularly attend regattas in the local area. Coaches will be requierd to attend each practice and acompany thier sailors to away regattas. Regatta accomodation and meals are paid. Job Requirements The sailing coach will be responsible for; Provide excellent customer service to members of the yacht club Operating a power vessel safely Adhering to strict safety protocol Ability to communicate in a clear, professional manner Assist in the maintenance of our fleet Develop, improve and deliver youth and adult sailing curriculum Coach and instruct sailors of all ages and ability levels Maintain the cleanliness of the waterfront/marina facilities and equipment Maintain current US Sailing Level 1 requirements Attends regattas, club sailing events and marina events Assist the Dockmaster/dock attendants in their duties Other duties as assigned by the Waterfront Director, Dockmaster and club managers Qualifications AED First Aid
