WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Under the direction of the Director of Competitive & Developmental Swimming, the Center Aquatics Director, and/or the Head Swim Coach, the Assistant Swim Coach will assist with the delivery of the Tampa YMCA Swim Team program. The Assistant Swim Coach may assist in the development and recruitment of swimmers participating with the Tampa YMCA Swim Team programs and YMCA Swim Lesson program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the implementation of workouts and training plans. Assist in the supervision of practices and/or dry land training. Assist with evaluating swimmer ability/performance and implement strategies for their improvement. Work closely with YMCA swim instructors to progress swimmers from the YMCA swim lesson program to Developmental Swim Team. Follow all safety recommendations and guidelines per Tampa YMCA policies and USA Swimming Assist in the recruitment and retention of athletes to the program. Communicate information effectively and in a timely manner to supervisors, participants and their families. Establishes and maintains a team attitude, and encourages good sportsmanship for athletes and parents. Attend specified competitions such as Developmental swim meets, trainings and/or special events as directed. Attend all required staff meetings.
