ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES
Assist the head coach with the following duties as assigned: Serve as a positive role model to the players, parents, and community members. Teach Sport techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics. Condition athletes appropriately and within local and stated guidelines for activities requiring endurance, strength, and agility. Preside over team activities including all scheduled team practices and games. Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team. Monitor players and other coaches' conduct during games. Manage equipment and playing facilities in a responsible manner Performs related duties as required Reports information to supervisor/Athletic Director Follow all local school, CCSD, State, and Federal guidelines and regulations as it pertains to working with children and students. Written and oral communication skills required to communicate with parents, athletic director, principal, and students effectively. Positively motivate student-athletes to learn sport strategies, maintain passing grades, and become a positive school role model.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work well with student-athletes of various ability levels, basic knowledge of sport, willingness to learn and follow District and state rules and guidelines regarding high school sports; prior coaching experience is helpful but not required. Ability to: Follow oral and written instructions; work cooperatively with others; be neat, orderly and honest; work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed; adhere to expected policies and procedures as stated herein.
