Key duties include planning practices, scheduling matches, managing equipment, ensuring academic eligibility, and fostering sportsmanship, while maintaining safety and supervising student-athletes at all times.
Core Responsibilities Instruction & Coaching:
Teach golf techniques, rules, and strategies, offering both individual and team training sessions.
Program Management:
Create practice schedules, arrange transportation, and manage match lineups.
Student Development:
Motivate athletes to achieve academic and athletic potential, focusing on discipline and sportsmanship.
Safety & Supervision:
Ensure safety during practices/matches, supervise players at all times, and verify eligibility, including parent consent forms.
Communication:
Maintain open lines of communication with athletes, parents, school administration, and opposing coaches.
Budgeting & Equipment:
Oversee inventory, including uniforms and equipment, and assist with fundraising.
Qualifications Experience:
Proven experience in coaching golf and mentoring student-athletes.
Certification:
Valid coaching license/certificate required by the state or district
Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of golf rules and techniques. Physical Demands Ability to stand for long periods, walk golf courses, and lift equipment (approx. \(25\)-\(50\) pounds). Ability to work in various weather conditions.
