Job Description

Responsible for assisting the head cheer coach in all aspects of coaching. Involving recruiting, retaining members, and overall in-season/off-season strategies/programs. %
OF TIME ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Constant
  • (67-100%) Assist the head coach in managing and directing the cheer program.
  • Asist the head cheer coach with all aspects of the team including training, competing, and scheduling.
  • Assist with academic progress of students athletes.
  • Assists with recruiting including calling and high school visits and all-star guys, attending recruitment clinics, hosting recruitment clinics.
  • Commits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, AACCA and NCA with the utmost integrity.
  • Travel outside the Area V recruitment areas. 2. Frequent (34-66%)
  • Travel out of state for recruiting.
  • Asist with study tables and grade checks for the team.
  • Assist with the placement of the graduating athletes into a four year college and cheer programs.
  • Assist head coach with all fundraising aspects including clinics and camps. 3. Occasional (10-33%)
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Assist in the promotion and support of the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
1. Be able and willing to represent Iowa Central Community College in a positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve. 2. Help develop a cheer program all can be proud of. 3. Help build strong relations with community coaches and players. 4. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically, and coherently, orally and in writing. 5. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption. 6. Must be able to get along with diverse personalities. 7. Keep accurate office hours.
GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH OR WITHOUT A REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION
Position involves constant (67-100%) sitting, talking or listening to persons over the telephone and in person, traveling for long periods of time; frequent (34-66%) standing, walking, talking, jogging, visual activity and repetitive motion, use of computer equipment; and occasional (10-33%) assembling equipment, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and carrying/lifting up to 25 pounds. Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred. College playing experience required, coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Must hold and maintain throughout employment a current Class C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to complete prior to athletic season
