Job Description

8th Grade Volleyball Coach — Extracurricular Stipend
POSITION OVERVIEW
East Marshall CSD is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable coach to lead the 8th Grade Volleyball program for the 2026-27 school year. Compensation is according to the East Marshall CSD Extracurricular Salary Schedule.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS
Current East Marshall CSD employee or qualified external applicant Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategy, and skill development at the middle school level Ability to obtain Iowa Coaching Authorization if not currently held
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level — preferred, not required Experience playing or coaching volleyball — preferred, not required Strong communication and relationship-building skills with student-athletes and families Commitment to student development both on and off the court
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Plan and conduct organized, skill-focused practices for 8th grade student-athletes Develop and implement a game-day strategy appropriate for the middle school level Ensure a safe, positive, and competitive environment for all participants Communicate regularly with building administration and the Activities Director Monitor academic eligibility and student conduct in accordance with district and
IHSAA/IGHSAU
guidelines Represent East Marshall CSD with professionalism at all contests and events Other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or building administration
