Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Grinnell College is looking for the next Assistant Volleyball Coach to join our exciting team. The part-time assistant coach will work with the head coach to develop and maintain a positive student-athlete experience. They will focus on student-athlete development, building an inclusive culture, and recruiting elite prospective student-athletes. All this while contributing positively to the College's Athletic Department. The coach will help create purpose and value to the College's and the Athletic Department missions Key Responsibilities
  • Work with specific sub-groups of student athletes
  • Plan practices, review video and provide technical analysis
  • Conduct team, group and individual meetings with students
  • Work with Head Coach to identify and target and recruit student athletes
  • May work with travel planning and other administrative responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • 6 months as a college volleyball player and/or coach
  • Champion Diversity Equity and Inclusion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team
  • Demonstrated understanding of NCAA rules and the ability to recruit qualified students Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstratable ability to coach at the college level.
  • Knowledge of the Midwest Conference
  • Prior NCAA coaching experience
  • Experience with video analysis, recruiting software and player development programming
