Opens a new window. East Mills Community school District is currently hiring for an Assistant Softball Coach. This position is available for the 2025-2026 season.

To set up meetings and supervise the organization/practices.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise organization and practices.
• To see that the organization has a constitution or some form of rules and regulations for the organization on file in the Principal's office and adequate copies for all members and/or participants.
• To help plan activities and place activities on a master schedule coordinated with the activities director and approved by the High School Principal.
• To see that the activities are carried out.
• To prepare a follow-up, in writing, for all activities.
• To apply and follow the Board of Education policy on student conduct.
• Fill out requests for transportation forms and file with the principal well in advance of activity.
• To help plan and supervise fundraisers in accordance with board policy.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid D.E. coaching authorization or the credentials of a certified teacher with an endorsement for coaching on file with the Board Secretary.
• Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the tasks listed under "Performance Responsibilities."
• Must exhibit high moral values and be able to serve as a favorable example to young people.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Activities Director and Secondary Principal Supervises:

Assistant coaches, student athletes and student managers

Job Goal:

To provide leadership, supervision, and organization of a specific athletic activity, and to carry out the objectives of the total athletic program. To include helping each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and an increased level of self-esteem.

Terms of Employment:

Compensation and duration of coaching season to be established by the Board of Education.

Assessment:

Assessment of the job performance will be evaluated by the Activities Director and Secondary Principal.
