Knowledge of Iowa High School Athletic Association rules and regulations.
Position Overview
The Assistant Baseball Coach will support the Head Coach in developing and managing the MMCRU High School baseball program. This position emphasizes individual skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, character development, and academic success. The Assistant Coach will serve as a mentor and role model while helping create a positive program culture that encourages commitment, accountability, discipline, and pride in representing MMCRU High School.
Salary
$2,800.00 + applicable experience lanes (per district schedule)
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, games, team activities, and seasonal training programs.
Provide instruction and guidance in fundamental baseball skills, including hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, conditioning, and game awareness.
Support the development of student-athletes through individualized instruction, skill development, goal setting, and appropriate training.
Assist the Head Coach with game preparation, scouting, strategy, and implementation of team systems.
Promote a positive, educationally sound environment emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, character development, discipline, and academic success.
Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, student-athletes, parents/guardians, administration, and the Activities Director.
Attend all required IAHSAA rules meetings, clinics, and professional development as mandated by the state and district.
Assist with the proper care, inventory, organization, and security of baseball equipment and facilities.
Help maintain a strong baseball program culture that encourages commitment, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and pride in representing MMCRU High School.
Perform other duties as assigned related to coaching.
