Job Description
This position is responsible for leading and developing a comprehensive cheer program that promotes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. This position recruits, mentors, and coach's student-athletes in cheer techniques, including tumbling and gymnastics, preparing them for game day performances and local, regional, and national competitions. The coach fosters a positive, inclusive, and safe environment while supporting student-athletes' academic success and personal growth. Responsibilities include planning and supervising practices, coordinating travel and events, managing inventory and logistics, organizing summer camps and clinics, leading fundraising efforts, maintaining communication with stakeholders, and upholding institutional policies and athletic department standards.

Previous cheer coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and the community. Self-motivated, energetic individual with leadership and planning skills. Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and demonstrate personal and professional integrity. Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes for participation in the cheer program Support the academic progress and retention of student-athletes through communication and encouragement of academic success Plan and supervise scheduled cheer practices Prepare routines for home athletic events, community appearances, and select competitions Attend and supervise team participation at home athletic events and designated appearances (including evenings and weekends) Manage in creating an engaging game day atmosphere in collaboration with the Athletic Department Coordinate pre-game and in-game cheer activities at home events Promote student involvement and school spirit at home athletic events Manage organizing seasonal cheer camps, clinics, or outreach activities as appropriate Support fundraising efforts for the cheer program Maintain inventory of cheer equipment and uniforms Manage coordinating team travel when applicable Manage budget Organize and promote fund raising events Promote positive representation of Indian Hills Community College at all times Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director regarding program needs, scheduling, and student-athlete progress Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director that support the cheer programResponsible To:
