The Assistant Womens Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach of womens basketball with all facets of conducting a successful NCAA intercollegiate basketball program. The position must comply with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations and must display professional integrity.
Duties include:
On-the-floor coaching during practices and games
Recruiting of top-quality student-athletes
Team travel, conditioning, academics, promotional and public relations activities
Summer collegiate camps
Other duties as assigned by the head coach
Required Experience:
Experience with NCAA policies and procedures
Intercollegiate coaching experience
Required Education:
Bachelors Degree Required Other:
Possess a valid drivers license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
Must be able to travel
Additional Preferred:
Masters degree
Demonstrated organizational skills
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with NCAA and conference rules and regulations
Desire to work in a collaborative environment and to learn and grow
Coaching philosophy consistent and/or complementary to that of the existing head coach
Concern for the character, academic and athletic preparation of student-athletes
Experience recruiting national caliber basketball student-athletes
Ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, department members, administrators, university faculty and staff, professional colleagues, and the general public
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
