Job Description
Summary Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Soccer Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, a commitment to athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position will work closely with the head coach to support the overall goals of the soccer program and enhance the student-athlete experience. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy. Provide guidance and support to student-athletes during practices and games, ensuring adherence to team rules and sportsmanship standards. Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and game-day preparations. Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to promote individual and team growth. Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and ensure effective communication with players during competitions. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and respect among all team members. Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting the soccer program within the school and community. Attend coaching meetings and contribute to the overall development of the soccer program. Requirements Previous coaching experience or playing experience at the high school level or higher is preferred. Strong knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, players, and parents. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. First Aid/CPR certification is a plus. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season. A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes. Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
