The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, a commitment to athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position will work closely with the head coach to support the overall goals of the soccer program and enhance the student-athlete experience. Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes during practices and games, ensuring adherence to team rules and sportsmanship standards.
- Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and game-day preparations.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to promote individual and team growth.
- Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and ensure effective communication with players during competitions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and respect among all team members.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting the soccer program within the school and community.
- Attend coaching meetings and contribute to the overall development of the soccer program. Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or playing experience at the high school level or higher is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, players, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
- A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
