Full-Time (Year-Round) Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, organized, and player-centered Assistant Director of Coaching to support the continued growth and development of our travel soccer program. This individual will work closely with our Boys and Girls Directors to deliver a high-quality, consistent training environment while also assisting with key administrative and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, demonstrates strong leadership, and can effectively balance on-field coaching with behind-the-scenes program management. This position reports directly to the Technical Director. Key Responsibilities Coaching & Player Development Design and deliver age-appropriate training sessions aligned with the club's game model Monitor and support individual player development across assigned age groups Assist in the evaluation and placement of players within the travel program Administrative & Operational Duties Help manage team schedules, league registrations, and tournament entries Maintain accurate player and team records within the club's management system Support communication between coaching staff, families, and club administration Coach Development & Support Mentor and provide feedback to team coaches throughout the season Assist in planning and facilitating club coaching education sessions Help onboard new coaching staff and ensure alignment with club standards Club Culture & Representation Serve as an ambassador for FC Lake County at games, events, and league functions Uphold and promote the club's values of respect, development, and competitive excellence Build positive relationships with players, parents, and the broader soccer community Required Qualifications Minimum USSF "C" License (or equivalent) with willingness to obtain "B" License within the first 18 months of employment 4+ years of experience coaching competitive youth soccer (travel level preferred) Previous experience in a club leadership or administrative role Experience working with multiple age groups (U8-U19) in a travel soccer environment Familiarity with Illinois youth soccer leagues and structures (e.g., YSSL, IWSL, IYSA State events, National League/NPL) What We Offer Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Opportunities for professional development and license advancement A collaborative staff environment committed to player-first coaching How to Apply For a full overview of this position, please email info@fclakecounty.com .
