A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.
Under the direction and supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach, the Assistant Aquatic Manager and the Aquatic Manager, responsible for the operation of the swim team including organizing, completing assigned tasks, communicating with parents and working with swimmers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Must be at least 18 years of age Must be CPR certified or willing to become certified Minimum of two years coaching experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of competitive swimming Knowledge or experience in instructing amateur swimmers
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the swimmers during practices, meets and any other swim periods Teach proper stroke techniques while coaching Handle all swim meet preparation, including equipment set-up Distribute awards Lead daily practices Assist in creation of line-ups for all swim meets Assist with the preparation, operation and clean-up of home swim meets Work with the Head & Assistant Coaches on time management, practice structure, award distribution procedures, record keeping for swimmers, and overall aptitude for coaching Work with all coaches on meet set-up, creation of line-ups, creation of workouts, practice development, and award distribution Serve as the primary communicator to the Head Team Coach, assistant coaches, parents, and swimmers Attend and participate in coaches' internal and external meetings Record swimmers' meet results Assist in Meet Manager Assist Team Unify operations within timelines Assist Swim Team related special events and banquet Oversee operations of Assistant Swim Team Coaches Coordinate swim meet volunteers for home swim meets Maintain a clean and organized work environment Perform the job in compliance with District policies, procedures, work rules, and the employee handbook Report unusual maintenance problems or irregularities to the Asst. Aquatic Manager or Building Technicians Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors Abide by the Bolingbrook Park District dress code for your area Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District safety program, with specific attention to safe pool use during swim team periods Work as a Team Player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments
