- Illinois Professional Educator License Strong knowledge of the sport and an ability to teach and develop the skills of our student-athletes Ability to build relationships and serve as a positive role model for students Effective communication skills with students and adults Willingness and ability to work nights, holidays, evenings and weekends Willing to travel with the team to different locations for practices/games, as needed Compensation This is a Differential position. The differential pay scale can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which is available on our website. Coaches with 5+ years of experience are compensated at a higher rate than those with more limited experience. Employment as a coach is on an at-will basis. Important Notes The season for this sport typically runs from early August-mid October. The exact dates are determined based on IESA rules and the schedule for State events. More detailed questions regarding the schedule can be directed to the Athletic Director at the school. More About Our Community Champaign Unit 4 Schools serves over 10,000 PreK-Young Adult students in 18 facilities, which include twelve elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, one early childhood facility, and the Novak Academy.
