Position Summary:
This position assists the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Performance with implementing strength development, injury prevention, education, nutrition, and recovery guidance for student-athletes. The head Coach may also execute administrative duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute individual and group/team strength and conditioning programs for select sports. Conduct training sessions and workouts while teaching proper techniques for improved athletic performance. Track, monitor and execute proper data analytics and key performance indicators (KPI) for results. Provide instruction related to team building and leadership concepts. Meet with coaches and sports medicine staff to assess needs, develop programs, and monitor individual progress. Track and document injury history and assist in rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Collaborate with sports medicine department to deliver and execute injury prevention and recovery training programs Research, implement, and maintain department technology. Organize and distribute nutritional and recovery information for UIC teams. Develop and cultivate relationships with campus partners in Kinesiology, Engineering, Nutrition, etc... Serve as a role model and demonstrate a professional working relationship with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni, and general public. Assist the Associate AD for Sports Performance with drafting and executing department policies and procedures. Organize and distribute educational materials to UIC Sport Coaches. Provide an environment where the mental health and well-being of the student-athletes prospers. Adhere to all University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attend home competitions as assigned. Travel with designated teams as assigned. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree required. Minimum 5 years experience in College Setting. Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCs). Knowledge of anatomy and exercise physiology. Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple initiatives. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software. Experience in a Division I program. Experience in data collection and organization.License of Certification:
AED and CPR Certification required upon hire.Application Instructions:
