Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Coach and inspire the next generation of athletes! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop coaching skills, foster teamwork, and promote healthy physical activity among children and youth. As an integral part of our sports programs, you will support head coaches in delivering engaging training sessions, ensuring safety, and creating a positive environment that encourages growth and confidence. Duties Assist head coaches in planning and executing training sessions across various sports such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, karate, judo, and more Support the development of players' skills through coaching techniques tailored to different age groups and skill levels Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including AED operation and first aid/CPR readiness Help manage behavior and foster a respectful, inclusive environment for all participants Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to provide updates and address concerns Support team leadership by motivating athletes, encouraging teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship Assist in organizing equipment, setting up training areas, and maintaining a clean and safe environment Skills Prior experience as a lifeguard or in swimming instruction is highly valued Background in martial arts such as karate or judo enhances coaching versatility Proven experience working with children or in childcare settings Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction for activities like soccer coaching or basketball drills Strong communication skills to effectively connect with young athletes and their families Ability to teach physical education principles with enthusiasm and clarity Certification in first aid and CPR; AED operation certification preferred Experience in sports team leadership or coaching across various disciplines including cheerleading or climbing Familiarity with health club or gym environments is advantageous Skilled in behavior management techniques to promote discipline and positive conduct during activities Embark on a rewarding journey where your energy fuels young athletes' passions!
