Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
: Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in gymnastics classes and competitive team to ensure implementation of high quality gymnastics program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develops appropriate and progressive team gymnastics workouts for gymnasts Xcel LevelsBronze-Platinum in accordance with YMCA and USAG Guidelines. Instructs gymnasts in a safe,fun and progressive manner. 2. Develops competitive gymnastics routines for use in competition based on the applicable USAGCode of Points. 3. Coaches at all gymnastics meets the Y competes in - usually 4-5 per year. 4. Develops appropriate and progressive conditioning programs for gymnasts. 5. Maintains a current working knowledge of coaching and spotting techniques. 6. Recruits, assesses and retains team gymnasts for the competitive program. 7. Builds authentic, effective relationships with gymnasts and parents and works to help them connect with each other and the YMCA. 8. Communicates proactively and clearly information regarding the gymnastics program andcompetitive team information. 9.Maintains records as required (attendance, progress reports, etc.) 10.Attends gymnastics meets as scheduled and provides leadership in a professional manner whilerepresenting the YMCA Gymnastics Department. 11. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. 12. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. 13. Organizes, sets up and puts away required class equipment. Monitors gymnastics equipment andarea for safety and reports damaged equipment to supervisor. 14. Trains and supervises class aides as assigned. 15. Responsible for reporting any incidents, accidents or problems to supervisor and completes required incident reporting forms. 16. Works to create a positive and energetic learning environment. 17. Helps implement the Gymnastics values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility andTeamwork to all coaches and gymnasts. 18. Complete and maintain Praesidium child abuse prevention and CPR/AED/First Aid trainings as a condition of employment to support our commitment to maintaining a safe environment for youth and vulnerable populations.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
