Position:
Junior Varsity Baseball Coach Job Summary:
The Junior High JV Baseball Coach is responsible for leading and developing student-athletes in grades 6-8 through instruction, practice, and competition. This position focuses on teaching baseball fundamentals, building teamwork, and creating a positive, disciplined, and encouraging environment. The coach will help student-athletes grow in skill, character, and confidence while representing the values of the school or organization.
Qualifications/ Minimum Requirements:
Previous baseball playing or coaching experience preferred. Experience working with middle school or junior high students. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to teach skills in an age-appropriate, engaging manner. Commitment to student growth, sportsmanship and the values and mission of District 90. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Reports to : Athletic Director and works in coordination with the Head Coach.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead practices that develop baseball fundamentals, including hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, and situational play. Teach rules, strategies, and proper techniques for competitive baseball. Prepare athletes for games by organizing lineups, practices, and game-day routines. Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, and team events, ensuring safety at all times. Foster a team culture that emphasizes effort, respect, accountability, sportsmanship, and hard work. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and player development. Maintain equipment, assist with field preparation, and support team travel and logistics as needed. Monitor and support student-athlete academic and behavioral eligibility in collaboration with school staff. Serve as a positive role model, reinforcing character and personal growth.

It is not necessary that you contact the District #90 administrators to request an interview. The following procedure will be followed: 1. Applications will be reviewed. 2. Based upon the assessment of the application, the most promising candidates will be contacted for a personal interview. 3. Following the interview process, a written recommendation will be prepared supporting the employment decision. 4. The recommendation for employment will be presented by the Superintendent to the Board of Education for consideration and action. 5.
