Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, safety-conscious, and organized Junior High Cheerleading Coach to lead our Junior High squad. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to teaching foundational cheer skills, fostering exceptional school spirit, and mentoring student-athletes in teamwork and leadership. A strong commitment to athlete safety and proper progression is required.
Key Responsibilities Technical Instruction:
Teach foundational cheer mechanics, including proper motion technique, jumps, basic tumbling, and vocal projection.
Safety & Stunting Progression:
Supervise and instruct all stunting activities using strict, age-appropriate progressions and safety protocols in compliance with state athletic association guidelines.
Game Day & Crowd Leadership:
Prepare the squad to cheer at junior high athletic events (e.g., football, basketball), focusing on crowd engagement, sportsmanship, and school pride.
Choreography & Practice Planning:
Organize disciplined practices and choreograph crowd cheers, sidelines, and short routines suitable for the junior high level.
Program Alignment:
Work collaboratively with the High School Head Cheer Coach to align terminology, safety standards, and skill expectations for a smooth transition to the high school program.
Administrative Management:
Coordinate uniform distribution, practice schedules, game-day logistics, and maintain clear, professional communication with parents and administration.
