Job Description

VACANCY Co-Ed Cross Country Assistant Coach Centerville Senior High School is accepting applications for the position of Co-Ed Cross Country Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will assist the head coach in developing and supporting the cross country program while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and academic success among student-athletes. Responsibilities include assisting with practices, meets, conditioning, and other program activities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience in cross country, track and field, or a related sport. Knowledge of distance running, training techniques, conditioning, and race strategy. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to motivate student-athletes while promoting teamwork, personal growth, and a positive team culture. Willingness to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletic department, and school staff. Commitment to maintaining high standards of sportsmanship and representing Centerville-Abington Community Schools in a positive manner. Must meet all IHSAA, school corporation, and state coaching requirements. Position will remain open until filled. Centerville-Abington Community Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
