Field Hockey About this opportunity: Ball State University Intercollegiate Athletics welcomes applications for an Assistant Field Hockey Coach. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function:
Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes; perform duties in all areas of the program at the direction of the head coach, athletic director, or sport supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide teaching and instruction to student-athletes. Develop, in conjunction with the head coach, planning of practice sessions and competitive coaching situations. Support head coach in evaluation of talent and recruitment of athletes in to the program; includes contact by telephone and mail; off campus evaluations; on campus visits. Support developing scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents. Make recommendations in regard to fund raising, promotion and marketing, special projects, clinics and camps. Monitor, in conjunction with the head coach, the academic progress, the conditioning, and the training of the student-athletes. Work with the strength coach on a fitness program for field hockey student-athletes and disseminate to incoming student-athletes. Serve as recruiting coordinator, point person for communication, filter recruits to Head Coach, plan and execute visits, admissions and compliance tasks for committed athletes. Monitor the technical progression and growth of individual players' skill sets, leading the way in film analysis and meeting with student athletes to analyze film. Support creating a schedule for spring competition. Serve as administrator for camps and clinics, communicating to prospects, planning and execution of clinics and all HR task for employment and payment. Support the management of team travel arrangements, including transportation, lodging, and meal planning, in compliance with university policies and budget constraints. Serve as point person for strength and conditioning training Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by date of appointment. Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience at a competitive level. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution. One year of collegiate coaching experience. How to apply:
