Job Description

This position assists in the development/coaching of the HCC Football team Defensive Line by performing all duties assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director to the best of their ability and in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Attend and take part in the in-service training provided by the Athletic Director and Head Coach. 2. Be familiar with and follow the policies of Highland Community College, the NJCAA, and the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. 3. Complete all Quality Control tasks as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Defensive Coordinator. 4. Attend practices, meetings, and professional development opportunities, as assigned by the Head Coach. 5. Teach proper fundamentals, techniques, and skills involved with playing Defensive Line. 6. Assist the Defensive Coordinator with Game Plan duties, and assist with Special Teams duties as assigned. 7. Teach sportsmanship, accountability, discipline to HCC athletes and set an example of good moral and physical behavior. 8. Assume responsibility of assisting the head coach, under his/her supervision, in performing assigned responsibilities. 9. Assist the Head Coach with recruiting activities. 10. Demonstrate loyalty, commitment and support for Highland Community College, the Athletic Department, and the growth and development of all students that the College serves. 11. Other duties as assigned. 12. Willingness to Coach own position and lead recruiting in your area assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Related experience and/or training desired. Computer experiences desired. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations Must have a valid driver license and no major driving infractions in the past five years. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, community members, and employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
