Full Job Description Description:
Coaches oversee all aspects of the youth basketball program, which can include serving as a customer service point of contact, coach, or referee. The J's basketball program emphasizes fun, safety and convenience and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Experience as a coach/player/referee is preferred, but not mandatory. Schedule We are hiring reliable part-time staff to assist with practices on weekdays and coach games on weekends for our Winter Basketball program. We are hiring for PreK-6th grade teams that practice Monday-Thursday and play on Saturdays & Sundays. The Winter season is from November-February. You must be able to coach your team's games on either Saturdays or Sundays. Essential Functions Coach basketball practices, games and/or clinics for ages 4-13 Transport balls and equipment between multiple basketball sites if needed Supervise children ages 4 to 13 years old Benefits Free Individual Membership to
The J Requirements:
Experience working with children preferred Experience as a coach/referee/player is preferred Knowledge of basketball and its rules Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends Must have reliable transportation Physical Requirements Constant talking and hearing to communicate with players and officials Frequent standing, walking and eye/hand/foot coordination as well as exposure to a generally loud gymnasium environment Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling of 25lbs, stooping/crouching, sitting, climbing stairs/ladders throughout the building and on the court and repetitive motions to demonstrate and execute skills About The J The J is committed to creating a diverse environment.
