Job Description

Seaman USD #345 has an opening for Head Boys Tennis Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in daily practices to prepare athletes for competitive tennis. Applicants must be able to motivate student-athletes to develop an appreciation in learning the sport of tennis. This position runs from Feb 2027 to May 2027. Candidates must have coaching and/or teaching experience with a tennis background and knowledge of the sport.
Essential Duties:
1. Teaches fundamental technique, skills and match protocol to compete in the sport the sport. 2. Works in conjunction with the athletic director in organizing daily and seasonal activities. 3. Organizes meetings, team functions & camps for encouraging student participation. 4. Assesses skills, techniques and recommends team assignments in determining depth charts. 5. Provides input in scheduling, practice organization and parent communication. 6. Instructs athletes daily regarding the rules, regulations and techniques of the sport. 7. Provides constructive criticism and positive feedback to promote a winning culture. 8. Establishes standards of behavior, structure, discipline and supervision of students-athletes. 9. Helps promote high academic standards to ensure eligibility requirements are met. 10. Assist in parent dialogue regarding athletic & academic performance of the student-athlete. 11. Follows KSHSAA & District regulations governing the sport and SHS athletic program. 12. Models professional & sportsmanlike behavior toward athletes, officials, parents & spectators. 13. Follows established procedures for proper sports nutrition and diet. 14.
Participates in special activities:
parent night, banquets, awards, assemblies, check-in, etc. 11. Assist in communication with parents/guardians regarding student performance & tream role. 12. Follows KSHSAA regulations and guidelines that govern high school athletics. 13. Models sports-like behavior and appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials, etc. 14. Follows procedures for equipement, supplies and uniforms. 15. Participates in special events to include parent night, team dinners & post-season banquet. 16. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities related to football and otherwise. 17. Supports a winning culture that emphasizes, hard work, structure, discipline and intregrity. 18. Supports the head coach, expectation and standards of the SHS athletic department.
