Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Elementary Cheer Coach at Buckhorn School for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will inspire and motivate young cheerleaders, fostering a positive and inclusive environment while teaching essential cheerleading skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of elementary students through the art of cheerleading. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Plan and conduct engaging practice sessions, focusing on cheer routines, stunts, and safety protocols. Organize and oversee cheerleading performances at school events, games, and competitions. Foster a positive and supportive team culture that encourages participation, collaboration, and respect among all team members. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding practice schedules, events, and student progress. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and events. Coordinate with school administration and other staff to promote cheerleading activities and events. Attend all scheduled practices, games, and events throughout the season. Maintain equipment and uniforms, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in good condition. Requirements Previous experience in cheerleading or coaching, preferably at the elementary level. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, safety practices, and first aid. Ability to create a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment for all participants. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by practice and event schedules. Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies and regulations. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
