Job Description

Assistant Football Coach - Special Teams Coordinator & Director of Football Operations The Assistant Football Coach - Special Teams Coordinator & Director of Football Operations is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach in all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III football program. This position includes primary oversight of all special teams units and responsibility for coordinating the operational aspects of the football program. The successful candidate will support the mission of Centenary College by fostering a positive environment emphasizing academic success, sportsmanship, and student-athlete development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coaching Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee all special teams units, including planning, instruction, and evaluation. Assist the Head Football Coach with daily practice planning, game preparation, and on-field coaching. Analyze practice and game film and assist in opponent scouting and game planning. Teach and develop student-athletes in accordance with program standards and expectations. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and support retention and success initiatives. Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Recruiting Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who are a strong fit for Centenary College. Maintain consistent communication with prospective student-athletes, families, coaches, and counselors. Coordinate and assist with campus visits and recruiting-related events.
Additional Duties:
Support departmental and campus-wide initiatives and events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate or equivalent level. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel.
PREFERRED
Previous collegiate coaching experience, preferably coordinating special teams. Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations. Experience in recruiting student-athletes.
