Job Description

Salary Range:
$4,100 - $4,700 Phillips Academy seeks a Head Coach for the JV2 Soccer program for Fall 2026. To be considered for this position you must include a cover letter including your philosophy of coaching in an education-based athletic program. JV2 Head Coach responsibilities include: Plans and executes team practices with JV2 assistant coach support. The JV2 program is the third-level competitive team in our interscholastic program, primarily comprised of 9 th and 10 th graders. Coaches in all regular season games as scheduled and as possible, supports varsity tryouts at start of fall season, beginning August 29 through 2 nd week in November. Commitment is approximately 20-25 hours per week (Monday - Saturday) with practices occurring weekdays from 3:15-5 p.m as well as games typically on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Collaborates with soccer coaches across program (varsity and JV1) on player development, game strategies and practice plans, when appropriate. Stays current in and expands knowledge of coaching techniques. Models and ensures diversity and cultural competency (respect, inclusiveness, reflecting, valuing, and welcoming cultural differences) in all position responsibilities regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, social class, sexual orientation, ability, nationality, age, language, or origin. The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications: Ability to positively motivate, inspire and be role model to high school students, on and off field. At least 2 years experience coaching in club, high school or college setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Soccer playing experience at high school, college or higher level. Ability and willingness to manage a Monday-Saturday practice/game schedule which includes travel to away opponents.
