A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.
Various Positions Open Thayer Academy seeks qualified Upper School, Head, and Assistant coaches for the Fall 2026 season. This is a part-time, seasonal position. This includes promoting a culture and practice of excellence and sportsmanship that are consistent with Thayer Academy's philosophy and policies, as well as the program's long history of achievement. The varsity head coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including student recruitment, managing practices and games/championships, supervising assistant coaches, communicating with families and the Thayer Athletic Department, and supporting student athletes in the college recruitment process. Practice:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:45•6 p.m. JV teams do not practice/play on Fridays unless otherwise noted on the schedule JV practices end by 5:15•5:30 p.m. Most games are scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays, unless otherwise noted on the team schedule
