The Assistant Dance Team Coach will support the head coach in all aspects of managing and developing the high school dance team. This individual will assist with choreography, training, and team-building, ensuring the team performs at its highest potential. The assistant coach will also help maintain a positive, disciplined, and collaborative environment that encourages skill development, teamwork, and school spirit.
Requirements:
Fundamentals of Coaching course if hired as a coach after July 1, 2005 (must be done prior to coaching a 2nd year); NFHS Sport Specific Technical and Tactical Skills course in the sport being coached if hired as a coach after July 1, 2007 CURRENT Sports First Aid or equivalent American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid course CURRENT Concussion Awareness Course certificate Ability to organize and supervise a sports program; substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport; ability to keep accurate records and create concise reports; previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and choreographing routines for competition, pep rallies, and other performances. Help with organizing and executing practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment. Provide individual and group feedback to dancers to enhance their technical skills and performance quality Help with maintaining attendance, discipline, and behavior standards during practices and events. Support the head coach in communication with parents, school staff, and the athletic department. Help track the team's progress and goals, adjusting training methods as needed. Act as a positive role model for student-athletes, fostering respect, responsibility, and dedication
