To Be Determined Job Description Athletic Coach Girls Varsity Indoor Track Job Summary The Athletic Coach is responsible for coaching the team, focusing on teaching proper technique, as well as offensive and defensive strategies. HPS coaches are responsible for fostering a positive and competitive team environment while helping student athletes grow in both their skills and personal character. Requires in-depth knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the specific sport you coach. Coaching staff report directly to the Athletic Director and are expected to follow the policies and procedures of Hingham Public Schools Qualifications Experience coaching high school specific sport; experience working with students. Flexible problem solver with strong sense of initiate and personal responsibility Experience working with various stakeholders within a school community Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Trained/certified in or will become trained/certified in CPR, and First Aid/Concussion Responsibilities Design and implement effective practice sessions focused on skill development, course strategy, and sportsmanship Teach the skills and strategies to student-athletes in grades 9-12.
