Job Description

The Governors Academy is looking for talented and forward-thinking coaches to compete in the New England Independent School League (ISL) and directors to contribute to the afternoon program. The development of character and leadership skills in young people is at the core of what we do here at The Governors Academy and the coaches, advisors, and directors need to play a role in helping our students in the program to develop physically, artistically, socially, and academically. WRESTLING COACH
The varsity head coach should have extensive knowledge of their sport and experience playing and/or coaching at the secondary or collegiate level, and be familiar with and comply with the philosophy and policies of The Governors Academy. Head coaches have responsibility for all aspects of their program, including developing, mentoring, and recruiting athletes. Head coaches manage assistant coaches, to whom they may delegate authority, although ultimate responsibility for the program resides with them. The Wrestling coach is an exempt position and reports directly to the Director of the Afternoon Program and Athletics. This is a part-time seasonal position, and there are no benefits offered with this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must know the rules of Wrestling. Must demonstrate sportsmanship and role-modeling behavior with athletes. Must show cooperative behavior and a calm and composed demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed mainly indoors. The Athletics Department is a busy work environment in which there is a significant amount of personal interaction. The Coach must be flexible, enthusiastic, hard-working, and responsible. Must have a valid drivers license. The Academy is a non-smoking campus
SALARY RANGE
$10,000 - 12,000 per year. Please note that the quoted salary range is not a guarantee of the final salary offer. Variables include years of work experience, industry-specific experience, education level, etc.
