To Be Determined Job Description The Rockport Public School District serves approximately 650 PreK-12th grade students on a two-building campus located in the picturesque coastal community of Rockport, MA which is 40 miles northeast of Boston at the tip of Cape Ann. Students learn 21st century skills in order to fully participate in a diverse and ever-changing world.Job Requirements:
- Perform all duties/responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics pertinent to the above job assignment.
- Be responsible for information contained in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the RHS Athletic Handbook, including but not limited to eligibility rules and guidelines, conduct and behavior expectations, communication and conflict resolution.
- Model the behaviors outlined in the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics and the RHS Athletic Handbook, especially those pertaining to sportsmanship.
- Implement RHS Athletic Department policies and team rules, including any discipline.
- Stay informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations that affect their particular sport.
- Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached. If there are unforeseen circumstances, the head coach will collaborate with the athletic director and assistant coaches to ensure supervision of the team.
- Develop an organized written practice plan to include adequate warm-up and cool-down procedures on a daily basis. Implement game plans and game management.
- Make sure that the facilities and equipment are safe and that safety procedures are followed in all areas where the players under their supervision are conducting sports activities.
- Required to directly supervise squad members at home and away contests, including direct supervision of all team members that are transported on school buses.
