Athletics Location:

Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. This is a part-time position with no benefits. The ideal candidate will work in conjunction with head coach to supervise and develops an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist head coach in establishing team goals for season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program; Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport and for attending practices and games; Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations; Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility; Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season; Represents the university and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses); Assists with game day set-up and breakdown; Other duties as assigned. This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Experience coaching basketball at a competitive level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action; Experience working in a community college or similar environment; Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need; Recruiting experience.
