We educate approximately 4,000 students from Pre-K through age 22, from homes that speak almost 30 different languages. Qualifications
NFHS/MIAA
Coaches Ed Certification:
Coaches must have
NFHS/MIAA
Coaches Ed Certification or obtain it within the first year of employment.
Sport-Specific Knowledge:
Coaches must be knowledgeable in current methodology, rules, and tactics of the sport. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
Preferred Experience:
Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable Experience working in a diverse public school setting Experience supporting students with all levels of talent and desire. Prior playing/coaching experience Candidates should have a passion for working with students, families/caregivers, and colleagues Candidates must be flexible and collaborative Candidates must demonstrate a belief in a growth mindset for students as well as for self
CORI, SORI and Fingerprinting:
All appointments are conditional based on a satisfactory CORI, SORI and SAFIS Background Check per 603 CMR 51.00.
CENTRAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE
(but are not limited to): Uses sound and acceptable coaching techniques in all phases of the program Organizes safe and effective practice sessions Establishes a working rapport with, and is directly responsible to the program head coach as well as the Athletic Director/Principal Adheres to all district and school policies regarding the athletics department Models good sportsmanship and enforces respectful behavior among players at all times Communicates personal and program expectations to the team and individual players Demonstrates a positive attitude towards and enthusiasm for the coaching assignment Models personal growth by looking for opportunities for self-improvement Supervises athletes in all athletic settings, including on the buses, in locker rooms, and at away locations Assists in management and monitoring of all program equipment Establish effective communication protocols for parents/guardians and students Attends pre-season meetings The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members in person and on the telephone. The employee must be able to see and hear on a continuous basis in order to ensure the safety of students as well as speak frequently to provide instruction. The employee will be working in a normal school athletic environment with an acceptable level of noise. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.
