$4,000 stipend paid out over a bi-weekly payroll (academic year) Westfield State University has an immediate opening for assistant part-time women's field hockey coach. Experience in collegiate or high school coaching is preferred, as well as an understanding of a competitive NCAA Division III program. The assistant coach will provide administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services reporting to the Field Hockey Head Coach. The duties and responsibilities are based on a yearly length of service and are renewable at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.
Responsibilities:
Assist in all aspects of coaching the field hockey team. Duties may include planning travel, accommodations and meals, to ensure proper preparation for student-athletes. Assist with implementing a comprehensive strategy for organizing practices. Recruiting and retaining highly qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success. Support involvement with fundraising, community outreach, and alumni activities. Work cooperatively with department offices, including athletic communications, athletic training and equipment room staff in regard to public relations efforts, practice coordination, health and safety of student-athletes and team uniform/equipment needs. The Assistant Coach will promote a culture of health, well-being, and safety in all aspects of the team. The Assistant Coach will drive a team van on occasion. All Departmental, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations will be followed.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Minimum Qualifications:
A high level of competency in collegiate field hockey. An understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes and staff. Maintain a valid Driver's license and safe driving record in accordance with all institutional policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three to four years of experience with field hockey through coaching or playing. Proficient with technology applications applicable to the position. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
