Job Description

Stipend:
$2,500 Key School is looking for a qualified Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the winter Athletic Season for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to strengthen the Athletic program, helping students find the balance between individual achievement and the needs of the team, as well as between broad participation and a deep commitment to their chosen sport. Key students value intense competition and honor good sportsmanship. The program seeks coaches that encourage inclusivity while promoting the students' commitment to mastering skills, understanding tactics, fostering teamwork, and developing character. The Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach manages the program within the framework of the Athletics Philosophy of the Key School.
The Assistant Coach will:
Responsible for supporting the head coach in managing the team and ensuring athletic safety, and maintaining compliance with state athletic regulations Plan and attend all practices and games (practices and games are 5 days a week). Communicate with parents and students effectively. Attend meetings with the Athletic Department, the coaching staff, and the Director of Athletics. Organize and maintain all related equipment for the program Coaches are expected to be available for all practices and games and are required to be CPR certified (certification paid by the School). Key School is a member of both IAAM and MIAA.
