A Coach works with individual athletes or with sports teams to develop skills and improve teamwork and competitive performance. Runs practice sessions and physical conditioning programs; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of players; plans strategies for games; motivates and encourage players and teaches good sportsmanship.
Assistant Varsity Coach Job description: Assistant Varsity coach will assist the Varsity head coach in overseeing , organizing and executing all functions of the team to include practices and games. Will help to develop the players to achieve a chance to play at a higher level. Will be available to attend all practices and games. Must have effective communication skills, organization skills and have some previous soccer coaching experience.

Supports the head coach with the general demands of the team. Helps create and implement training sessions. Works with the coaching staff with team building events, summer workout programs and of course tryouts. Is able to interact with players, parents and other coaches and athletic department personal. Embraces the core values of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and embraces those values.
Qualifications:
Prior experience with coaching at club or high school level and possess a State or National coaching license.
Skills:
Needs to be able to communicate with the players and assist with instruction in practice and games. Has to have a high level of technical and tactical knowledge and is able to run a training session utilizing these skills.
Required Work Hours:
The season starts in mid-August and ends in early November. Coaches should be available 5 days a week in the late afternoon/early evening.
