JOB TITLE
Girl's Soccer Goalkeeper Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated Goalkeeper Coach to join our soccer program. The ideal candidate will be committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field while fostering a positive, competitive, and character-driven environment. The Goalkeeper Coach will be responsible for the technical, tactical, physical, and mental development of goalkeepers within the program. Working closely with the Head Coach and other staff, the successful candidate will design and implement age-appropriate goalkeeper training, evaluate player performance, and contribute to the overall success of the soccer program. Beyond developing talented goalkeepers, this individual will serve as a mentor who models integrity, professionalism, leadership, and sportsmanship consistent with the school's values. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and a passion for teaching the specialized position of goalkeeper. They are collaborative, organized, and committed to helping student-athletes achieve their highest potential in both athletics and academics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, and lead goalkeeper-specific training sessions for JVB, JVA, and Varsity goalkeepers. Develop technical skills including handling, diving, footwork, positioning, distribution, communication, and shot stopping. Train tactical decision-making, including game management, organization of the defensive line, and transition play. Evaluate goalkeeper performance during practices and matches and provide individualized feedback. Collaborate with the Head Coach to integrate goalkeeper training into the team's tactical system. Attend all scheduled practices, matches, team meetings, and postseason competitions. Analyze game film to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture that reflects the school's mission and values. Communicate professionally with players, parents, coaching staff, and athletic administration. Ensure compliance with school policies, league regulations, and safety protocols. Assist with goalkeeper identification and evaluation during tryouts and off-season training opportunities. Qualifications Passion for developing student-athletes in both soccer and personal growth. Current coaching certification is preferred. Ability to successfully pass required background checks and child safety training. Strong understanding of modern goalkeeper techniques and tactical principles. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Experience Previous experience coaching goalkeepers at the club, high school, college, academy, or professional level. Playing experience as a goalkeeper at the collegiate or higher level is preferred but not required. Experience developing goalkeepers across multiple age groups. Demonstrated success in improving goalkeeper performance through structured training. Experience working within a collaborative coaching staff.
