Job Description

The Bullis School Athletic Department is looking to hire a qualified Varsity Head Swim Coach . Working closely with the Head Middle School coaching staff, this position helps foster a positive, competitive environment in alignment with Bullis School's mission and values.
Schedule:
Practices are held Monday through Friday, 2:00-5:30 PM. Meets are held on and off campus in the DMV area. Coaches may be asked to drive an activity bus to and from meets. If you are passionate about education and want to make a difference in the lives of young individuals, we want to hear from you! Essential Functions Lead and manage all varsity swim practices and competitions Design season plans that support both high-performance athletes and developing swimmers Foster a positive, accountable, and team-first culture Support and guide swimmers navigating club commitments and, where appropriate, collegiate aspirations Build relationships within the club swim ecosystem and leverage those connections to strengthen the Bullis program Collaborate with the Athletic Department on scheduling, logistics, and program growth Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and school leadership
Experience Required:
Prior successful experience coaching, preferably at the middle school, high school or collegiate level Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor student-athletes Deep understanding of the sport, with a focus on skill development and strategic gameplay CPR/First Aid and concussion training certification (or willingness to obtain) Must be available for the entire season (end of February-end of May)
Preferred:
Collegiate swimming and/or coaching experience Experience working in independent schools or with student-athletes in competitive academic environments Experience coaching or mentoring at the Middle School level Interest in being involved with the full program This is a stipend position, paid at the end of the season, in the amount of $2,150 - $14,875 based on role and experience.
