Oct 1, 2026 Job Description JV Girls Basketball Coach Department Mountain Valley High School, Buckfield High School Report to Athletic Director Stipend Name Basketball Junior Varsity Coach Girls' Duties 1. Responsible for the supervision and safety of all athletes during practice and games. 2. Instruct and coach athletes in competitive basketball. 3. Issue/maintain/collect athletic equipment/uniforms and instruct athletes on the proper care and use of equipment/uniforms. 4. Communicate on a regular basis with the athletic director regarding all aspects of the program. 5. Ensure that parents and students are well informed about program expectations. 6. Ensure that all end-of-season responsibilities are met. (award ceremonies, athlete certificates, equipment inventory, etc.) Work Hours The vast majority of work is done outside of the school day. Duration This is a winter season sport. Qualifications 1. Past experience playing and/or coaching basketball. 2. Up-to-date training in CPR, First Aid, concussions, Coaching Principles course, and any other requirements of the Maine Principals' Association. 3. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills.
