Position:
Assistant Coach, Varsity Swimming & Diving Location:
Charlotte Aquatic Center Reports To:
Varsity Swim & Dive Coach Job Description:
Under direct or general supervision of the Varsity Head Coach, as well as the Director of Athletics & Youth Recreation, assists in conducting activities in connection with competitive swimming programs of an aquatic facility; and performs other related work as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First aid and
CPR /AED
for the professional rescuer. Previous high school and/or collegiate swimming required. Previous coaching experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to plan and implement swim practices. Knowledge of stroke technique in all four strokes, along with the ability to utilize stroke drills to improve technique. Ability to independently instruct while supervising swimmers. Performs work in an efficient, effective, safe, and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Assists with developing and implementing a practice plan, and keeps logs of practices Supports Varsity Head Coach in implementing and enforcing Aquatic Center rules, policies, and procedures. Inspire, educate and motivate swimmers of all levels Help record all workouts and track daily attendance Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations.

Attends and records times at swim meets. Assist in swim team social event planning as necessary Ability to work night and/or weekend hours
