Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Middle School Swimming Coach for the upcoming seasonal program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in competitive swimming and a passion for mentoring young athletes. This role involves developing swimming skills, fostering teamwork, and instilling a love for the sport in middle school students. Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily swimming practices, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and technique improvement.
- Create and implement training plans that cater to the varying skill levels of team members.
- Organize and supervise swim meets and competitions, ensuring a positive and competitive environment.
- Provide individual feedback and coaching to swimmers to enhance their performance.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude among all team members.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding team progress, schedules, and any concerns.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment during all practices and events.
- Collaborate with school administration and other coaches to promote the swimming program.
- Attend necessary meetings and training sessions as required by the school or athletic department. Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in swimming or a strong competitive swimming background.
- Knowledge of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competitive strategies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and school staff.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing young athletes.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding is preferred.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to school policies and regulations.
- Availability to work after school hours, evenings, and weekends during the swim season.
- A positive attitude and a passion for fostering a love of swimming in young athletes.
