Qualifications:
Successful high school or college experience in diving Experience as a coach/assistant coach preferred Coaching administrative experience preferred Demonstrate working knowledge of diving Valid Michigan teaching certificate is desirable Knowledge of weight training and conditioning techniques Previous experience working with students Candidate should demonstrate interest in, and aptitude for, performing the assignment of head coach

Program recommended for all coaches Knowledge of CPR and First Aid recommended
Performance Responsibilities:
Work as a team member of the coaching staff Prepare training/practice sessions, game preparations and team travel arrangements Maintain a professional competency by attending clinics and state rule meetings as needed Ability to complete other trainings as necessary to provide a safe environment for student athletes as assigned by the district Ability to provide effective leadership to student athletes to encourage both successful academic development and competitive performance Ability to communicate effectively with parents, administration, players and staff Submit an annual record of contest results and records Supervise the issuance, cleaning, storage, return and care of all athletic equipment Assist in purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as necessary Oversee the safety conditions of area when team is practicing Enforce disciplined behavior, code of fair play Establish and oversee penalties for not following school standards and rules; report all incidents to Athletic Director Attend practices and meets punctually Use professional conduct, language and decorum with staff, teammates, opponents, officials and fans Maintain player eligibility information Maintain physical forms, training rule forms signed by parents, team attendance records and medical emergency contact information Teach individuals the skills necessary for the highest possible achievement in their sport Adhere to the rules and regulations as detailed by MHSAA, Dexter Community Schools Board of Education policies and all other applicable policies and guidelines Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
