Position Details Primary Function :
The Behavioral Coach supports at-risk eligible students enrolled at SVLCoM by addressing barriers that hinder academic success and personal growth. This role is pivotal in helping students develop essential skills such as motivation, time management, goal setting and social-emotional resilience. By focusing on the five psychological needs of at-risk students - competence, usefulness, self-potency, belonging and hope - the Behavioral Coach creates individualized strategies to enhance student engagement, foster personal accountability, and promote a positive sense of purpose. Through targeted interventions and ongoing support, this position contributes to the improved student performance and overall well-being in a virtual and drop-in center educational environment.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Education or Social Work. Understand the use of technology in both instructional and operational settings. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills include the ability to speak clearly and concisely in oral and written communications. Ability to initiate and complete tasks with self-direction in a timely manner. Demonstrate skills in managing multiple priorities and coordinating projects with internal and external teams/stakeholders. Reports to :

240 day contract. Contract will be full-time and will report to a center daily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The following is for the assigned caseloads of at-risk eligible students only. This position will be funded out of 31a (at risk) funds and will be subject to review on an annual basis. The location of services has the potential to change annually. Assist students with school, life coaching, career and college planning. Discuss career opportunities and development with students. Create individualized/personalized learning plans to eliminate barriers to finishing courses. Assist in planning field trips to explore potential future opportunities as identified in the (Educational Development Plan (EDP). Utilize the EDP to guide career/college planning, celebrate student success, implement appropriate motivation, time management, goal setting and social emotional learning strategies. Help students navigate the steps to take between where they are and their post graduation plans. Assist students with time management and organization. Make home visits to provide individual family/student support and planning. Guide students on self-regulation and how to interact with others to set themselves up for success. Compile resources for students throughout the year to help connect students to community resources and services to eliminate barriers. Engage parents/guardians to support the student and their needs. Guide wrap-around services team to provide support Implement engagement strategies. Incentivise student success. Track at-risk qualifiers and support in identified areas. Consistently assess student growth and evaluate effectiveness through data systems. Complete daily logs to meet grant guidelines. Remain current with professional development opportunities and trends. Other duties that are aligned to the intent and purpose of the grant, as assigned..
